Japanese Pharmacopeia

The Japanese, United States and European Pharmacopoeias are the major pharmacopoeias in the world. They have established regular lines of communication and have set up a program that is working towards the harmonization of monographs and standards.

Reference substances specified in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia (JP) are supplied by the National Institute of Hygiene Science, (Korkuritsu Eisei Kenyusyo (KEK)) who produce chemical reference substance for the Society of Japanese Pharmacopoeia.
