Procedures
All operations should be conducted at room temperature. If bulk refrigerated solutions are to be used for 'spiking' they will need to be stood on the bench well beforehand to warm up.
1. Remove the vial from freezer.
2. Leave for 10 minutes to reach ambient temperature.
3. Remvove the disc with fine forceps.
4. Place the disc into a 100mL flask. Add 10mL of your broth and fill to volume with the supplied buffer water.
Leave 10-15 minutes to allow the disc to re-hydrate. Mix gently but thoroughly. This represents your sample for test.
Proceed with the examination according to the laboratory SOP.
Report a quantitative number as MPN/100mL.
