Description
The PT sample is a pH buffered soil.
The sample size provided is 100 g of soil.
The PT sample has been sized to 100 mesh.
Sample Preparation
The soil is to be extracted and analyzed using an appropriate extraction and analytical method to determine pH corrosivity such as USEPA Method SW-846 9040B or 9045C.
Mix prior to use. No modification to the sample prior to subsampling is necessary.
On the report form, please list the determinative technique used for analysis of this sample. In addition to all requested information, please note any unusual problems encountered in the extraction or analysis of the sample on the report form.
Report your results as pH units on the analysis data sheet provided.
Specific Instructions for Conductivity Analysis
Conductivity can be reported for mix ratios of 1:1 and 1:10 (grams of soil to mL of DI water).
For method ratios of 1:1 report 'Specific conductance, Conductivity (25ºC)'
For method ratios of 1:10 report 'Specific conductance, Conductivity (25ºC) <1:10>'
If you use a different ratio contact RTC for further instruction.
